As Cobalt Benefits Group accelerates its national expansion, the company is making another strategic investment in the leadership that will define its next chapter. Today, Cobalt announced that Jason Cirino has joined the organization to lead Client Services, bringing decades of experience building and scaling account management operations.
Cirino’s appointment, following the recent addition of Duncan Stuart as Executive Vice President of Great Bay Administrators (GBA), comes at a critical moment. With the recent launch of GBA extending Cobalt’s proven service model to employers nationwide, Cirino will help scale the service-first approach that has defined the company’s success in New England.
“Cobalt is growing rapidly, but growth alone is not the goal. Service-first execution is the goal,” said Bill Meehan, President and CEO of Cobalt Benefits Group. “Jason represents the very best of our industry, a leader with both strategic depth and operational discipline. When you pair that with his character and commitment to building long-term partnerships, it’s clear why we are so excited to welcome him.”
Throughout his career, Cirino has specialized in building the infrastructure needed to support sustainable growth, such as implementing account management frameworks and strengthening client-facing retention teams. His experience includes more than 25 years within the healthcare payer and distribution space.
“Cobalt is at an inflection point where thoughtful, strategic investment in client services will define our next chapter,” said Cirino. “The company’s commitment to service-first execution, long-term investment, and transparency offers an opportunity to deliver a truly unique client experience for self-funded employers.”
Cirino will work alongside Kathy Tarbell, an established industry leader known for her expertise in sales, account management, and broker engagement.
“Together, Jason and Kathy form one of the strongest sales and client leadership teams in the TPA industry,” Meehan added. “Their combined experience across markets, customers, and distribution channels strengthens our ability to deliver the service, insight, and partnership our brokers and clients deserve.”
A key aspect of Cirino’s role will be strengthening Cobalt’s broker and consultant partnerships. His deep relationships across the broker community, combined with his strategic approach to partnership development, will help ensure that Cobalt’s growth is matched by the operational excellence brokers and their clients have come to expect.
As a non-profit owned company, Cobalt operates with a long-term perspective, full transparency, and a true customer-first mindset. That structure allows the organization to invest in people, service, and innovation without short-term pressures.
